Before you start

Check both devices first.

Parent phone: Android 14 or newer. Use your parent Google account. This Android APK cannot install on iPhone or iPad.

Child tablet: Android 14 or newer. It also needs managed QR support. Check setup help before resetting.

You can remove Nesty at any time. On the tablet, enter your parent PIN and choose Remove Nesty. The tablet goes back to a normal tablet, with its other apps and photos kept, and no second reset. How to remove Nesty.

New tablet straight from the box? That's the easy path. Start at its first welcome screen. There is nothing to wipe.

Tablet already in use? Back up before a reset. Save photos and files and check Google account recovery. A factory reset erases local data.

How to install the Android APK
  1. Download Nesty Parent on your compatible Android parent phone, then open it from your browser's Downloads.
  2. If Android asks, open Settings and allow installs from the browser or Files app you used. Return to the download and tap Install.
  3. Open Nesty Parent and sign in with your parent Google account. You can turn that install permission off again afterward.

If Android says the app is incompatible, check the phone's Android version in Settings → About phone. For any other block, open setup help with the exact message.

  2. Create family Sign in with Google and add your child. You can finish tablet setup later.
  3. Set up tablet Use a new tablet from the box, or back up and reset one already in use. Follow the QR setup in Nesty Parent, then review rules and permissions before handover. You can remove Nesty later with your parent PIN.

Setup instructions

Start on the parent phone, then prepare the child Android tablet.

Nesty Parent creates the family first. Nesty Child Tablet is then added as the controlled Android tablet app and activated through the family subscription.

  1. Install Nesty Parent Scan the QR code or tap Download Nesty Parent APK on the parent phone.
  2. Create the family Sign in, add your child profile, and pick the starting rules in Nesty Parent.
  3. Prepare the child Android tablet A new tablet straight from the box is easiest: nothing to wipe. For a tablet already in use, back up photos and files and check account recovery before a reset. At the first welcome screen, tap the same spot six times before Google sign-in. Connect to Wi-Fi when asked and scan the install QR from Nesty Parent. Prefer to skip the welcome-screen taps and QR? Use PC Link over USB from a Windows PC instead.
  4. Review the screens Android may say the tablet belongs to or is managed by an organization. That's normal for Nesty: it's Android's wording for this protection, not a company controlling the tablet. Then enter the family link code on the child tablet. Review schedules, app lanes and KidTube, finish tablet permissions, then test the rules before handover.
