You can remove Nesty from the child Android tablet at any time with your parent PIN. The tablet then works as a normal tablet again. You do not need another factory reset.
The child's other apps, photos and files stay on the tablet.
On the child tablet
Open Parent tools on the tablet and enter your parent PIN.
Go to About. Under Remove Nesty, tap Uninstall Nesty, then confirm.
If a parent email is saved, Nesty opens a short email so you have a record. Send or discard it, come back to Nesty and tap Continue uninstall.
Nesty hands the tablet back to you, then Android asks to uninstall the app. Tap OK.
What happens
Nesty's lock-down ends. Android drops its protection, so the home screen, Settings and app installs work as normal again.
The child's other apps, photos and files stay on the tablet.
The Nesty Child Tablet app and its settings on that tablet are removed.
No factory reset is needed, now or later.
Using PC Link instead
If you use Nesty PC Link on a Windows PC, its Remove Nesty Child button does the same job over USB.
You still confirm with your parent PIN on the tablet. PC Link cannot remove Nesty without it.
Good to know
Removing Nesty from a tablet does not cancel your family subscription. Manage or cancel that in Nesty Parent.
Keep your parent PIN somewhere safe. It is what keeps the child from removing Nesty, and what lets you remove it.
Lost the PIN? Email support@nesty.family before you try anything else. A factory reset from Android's recovery menu also removes Nesty, but it erases the tablet, so treat it as a last resort.
Setting up for the first time? A new tablet straight from the box is the easiest start, with nothing to wipe.
